Personal blog of a freelance designer

About

KarenHi, I’m Karen.

I was born in South Africa and grew up in Johannesburg. A few years ago I moved to Dublin, Ireland, and I’ve recently relocated to Gibraltar. I’m hoping this will be the last stop for a while now ;)

I’ve been a graphic designer for 10 years and have been freelancing for about 7 years. Feel free to click over to my portfolio site (soon to be redesigned), Omega Red. I work exclusively on a Mac, using the Abobe CS5 tools and a Wacom 21″ Cintiq.

I recently just got married so I now go by the name of Karen Mareš – I’ll be transitioning all my online accounts to this new name over time…

I am a lover of art, historical fiction novels, Voltaire, asymmetry, existential philosophy, guitar, William Blake, parrots, Rammstein, good grammar and soccer (or football depending on what side of the Atlantic you’re on).
